In August we’ll discuss Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley. Ted—a gay, single, struggling writer is stuck: unable to open himself up to intimacy except through the steadfast companionship of Lily, his elderly dachshund. When Lily’s health is compromised, Ted vows to save her by any means necessary. By turns hilarious and poignant, an adventure with spins into magic realism and beautifully evoked truths of loss and longing.
Our book club prides itself on reading non-traditional books that are not “book clubby,” about which we have engaging conversations, paired with great snacks and wine. Join us! Shoot the bookstore a note or give us a call and we’ll add you to the email list. Or just show up on the second Thursday of the month at 6pm. All are welcome.
